After 3 months in the making, our initial ( Ver 1.0 ) report about Eckhart Tolle is ready.

As evidenced by the comments via the last 5 or 6 previous blog posts, the idea of putting a critical eye on such an apparent well-meaning Teacher, or even voicing some rational logic around rampant dime store mysticism and sloppy new thought propaganda, has stirred up a lot of passionate commentary.

Yet, we’ve never shied away from boldly going places where most dare not even think about.

You can gain access to this eye-opening report as part of our newly-released Renegade Growth Pak here: http://www.RenegadeGrowthPak.com

The Eckhart Effect and the Quest for Spiritual Accountability examines, not only what media might be influencing you to do, but how certain teachings — and the way some teachers operate — border on cult-like practices that may be sucking you under their influence.

It makes you take a look at your potential need to conform, your desire to be seen in a certain light, and your quest to follow people or ideas because they make you “feel good” or let you look at the world in a rosy light.

It helps you discover how the law of duality is vitally important in understanding the way the world works, and lets you join in an investigation of the ego that will leave you better understanding of how this part of you works, and how to deal with it — rather than trying to run from it.

It examines the power of your thoughts, your emotions, and your actions… so you can go beyond meditation to truly achieve what you want!

And it helps you on your quest for spiritual accountability… learning to take responsibility for your life and ending the cycle of victimitis that may have been holding you back all these years.

The headline on the flyer says:

The META-Physics of Health and Healing

Part of the flyer reads:

“….is sure to challenge even the most astute metaphysician while being delivered in laymen’s terms…”

Uhmm, yes, we like that, and also figure it’s something many (yes, many) in this world need nowadays — a message of self-accountable, self-responsible healing from a guy who talks straight, keeps things refreshingly real, and has no agenda for needing to sound or BE seen under any untouchable spiritual label.

Yep, with Paul Chek… what you see is what you get! He says what he means, and means what he says.

* * * * * * *

As Heather and I are about to drive 40-minutes south, on I-5, to Ashland, Oregon, to meet Paul in person and have lunch with him and his business partner, we can’t help but think about the GREAT class of teachers out there who step beyond the boundaries of normalcy and affect change by being blunt, outspoken, and brutally honest about life — their life and the lives of people they guide and counsel.

Paul, and many other candid, no hype, no BS tough love teachers like him (Osho was one as well, by the way) essentially force us to deal directly with our results, and aren’t necessarily the most sought-after authorities on self-empowerment.

Yes, they should be (and I’ll get into that in minute)… but, they’re not!

Why ?

Well, it’s easy, really… the majority of us exploratory humans who look to discover things about ourselves still want to slurp down a few spoonfuls of feel-good Chicken Soup For the Soul caliber insight BEFORE we even think about chewing on the steak of self-accountability and deep spiritual turnarounds.

Let’s face it, even though we know that a few yearly doses of “bad medicine” will cure our own self-induced, hideous habits of self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, who really amongst us wants the after-taste?

Rose-colored glasses really are great… the world really does look brighter and cheerier through them.

And, maybe — just maybe — we figure if somebody says something like this….

“we’re the sickest, most diseased, and most philosophically inept group of people we’ve ever been… and we’ve gotten comfortable writing and reading about spirituality, instead of doing it…” ( from the top interview clip below )

… the glasses will keep us from being part of that group!

But DO THEY?…

—————————————–

More Paul Chek interview clips

—————————————–

So, instead of wondering what part we may play in such a candid, uncensored assertion, we say to ourselves:

“Nope, ain’t me… not part of that group. I’m forgiving, tolerant. I’m on path of higher-level enlightenment. I’m charming, people love me, and I love them. I stay in the moment and am spiritual because, well, I inspire, enliven, awaken, and make a difference in the world… because I don’t pay attention to depressing, negative, or disharmonious things.”

Yeah, great! Sounds beautiful… but, how’s that working for you? (If this is you, you’ll know it.)

When it comes to the part we play in our own evolution, our own prosperity level, and how much we really hold ourselves accountable for our own RESULTS (i.e., Am I really getting and doing what I say I want to get and do?), I’m reminded of one of the most powerful 3 words I’ve ever heard.

It comes from one of the many featured mentors inside our Multi-Media Manifestation Portal.

This particular mentor, whose name I’ll keep private (our FAQ section explains why we don’t reveal all the names of the mentors archived in our portal), expands on this in detail in his interview with us. So, here, I’ll just give you the three words, and then give you my own commentary on what they could mean:

Behavior Doesn’t Lie!

Yep, think hard about that (read it again several times if need be).

Some teachers say that if you want to change your outer world, dive deep into your inner-world. But, here’s the rub… and what I pretty much feel people like Paul Chek, Randy Gage, Dr. Dov Baron, James Ray, Leslie Fieger, Pete Siegel, and more, have been saying in their conversations with us (hey, what am I doing… I just revealed some of the mentors in our portal! That’s okay, though… because that list doesn’t even scratch the surface of the quantity of interviews waiting for you inside)

[ as it applies to the personal YOU and not the impersonal WE this time ]

You can’t really go inward with honesty UNTIL you first own up to (view with clear lenses or “admit”) the “stuff” that’s going on in your outer world.

To put it another way, neither you, nor I or anybody else, should be diving into the swimming pool of ‘core level transformation’ until you/I/we FIRST take a shower and see the ‘dirt’ falling from our body.

It’s a subtle distinction, but well worth thinking about. Wanting to change your perception to change your reality is one thing, but trying to do it while ‘faking out’ your view of real-world experiences and truth is another.

We only believe what we practice. Anything else is just talk.

And, if we’re not practicing (or living) the exercises and inner-world insight that are passed down to us from teachers we cling onto (some of us in a more clingy guru-ish way than others) — the very same “stuff” that we spout off to others, like we’re some all-knowing powerful seer of wisdom — then we’re not walking our talk.

And, if you’re not experiencing what you’re consciously trying to get… uhmmm, yeah, I see a complete other blog post on that coming down the road

Or, better yet, just dive into the wealth of shocking, controversial, critical-thinking based, brilliant recorded conversations we have waiting for you inside the Multi-media Manifestation Portal.

Speaking of critical-thinking, I’m often asked if I can give an example of just what this kind of skill-set is supposed to look like in action.

The intellectuals in our community certainly understand some of the key points around what it means to confront life.

And, if you’re part of this group of people who like relying on reason and common sense over emotion and wishful-thinking, then you can contrast the critical-thinker with the passive, non-critical thinker.

The latter is:

> The person who takes a simplistic view of the world.

They see things in black and white, as either-or, rather than recognizing a variety of possible understanding. They see questions as yes or no with no subtleties.

> The person who takes takes an egotistical view of the world.

They take their facts as the only relevant ones. They take their own perspective as the only sensible one. They take their goal as the only valid one.

So, swinging this back around to the active, Critical Thinker, you’ll find:

> A person who recognizes emotional impulses, selfish motives, nefarious purposes, or other modes of self-deception.

> A person who does not take an egotistical view of the world.

They are open to new ideas and perspectives. They are willing to challenge their beliefs and investigate competing evidence.

> A person who is incredibly open-minded.

They evaluate all reasonable inferences; consider a variety of possible viewpoints or perspectives; remain open to alternative interpretations; accept a new explanation, model, or paradigm because it explains the evidence better, is simpler, has fewer inconsistencies or covers more data.

This is just the short and skinny overview!

There’s much more that can be written about this. So, in the interest of wrapping this post up and closing out the thoughts of its title ( “Counterculture Heroes or… ?” ), let me give you a VIDEO example of a Critical-Thinker in action.

This is by a man who was cool, smart, dirty, and relentlessly funny.

Most articles, blog posts, and tributes to George Carlin have him labeled in some way or fashion as this irreverent, anti-establishment, foul-mouthed, social renegade.

Sure, those are all very fine and accurate titles and descriptions of him; however, I’d like to give him a little more credit than that and honor him for the impact he really made:

Showing that it’s absolutely okay and effective to be a humanitarian through raw comedy that makes you “think”!

Yes, the bottom-line on George is that he, in my opinion, was the best ’sociology/critical-thinking’ teacher to come along and affect change for a wide audience.

How did such a seemingly grumpy, foul-mouthed man, affect any kind of change worth mentioning?

He used humor to lower your defenses and open your mind, then added penetrating questions (often unstated) to get you to think for yourself. Carlin wasn’t about normal. He was about raw social commentary, civility and ethics.

Yes, his material was funny and exaggerated but, at the same time, came from someplace genuine. You don’t make fun of something unless it bothers you. If it bothers you, that means you care, and caring means you have a level of respect for something which is being anything but irreverent.

And, George really can’t be considered counterculture either, because his material was always about popular culture, always about established society. And a key element about any established culture, idea, dogma, or way of thinking is the need (and right) to critique it. If we’re to improve on anything, we must analyze it, debate it, toss it around some.

George did that very well.

Never was there a man that could make you both laugh, think, and even question the way we look at the world, the words we use, and the little things we know about but still don’t notice… er, at least in the way that good ol’ Carlin made us notice.

Last week, I lost one of my longest standing heroes. I’ll miss him!

“There’s no present. There’s only the immediate future
and the recent past.” - George Carlin

Uhmm, yes, we like that, and also figure it's something many (yes, many) in this world need nowadays -- a message of self-accountable, self-responsible healing from a guy who talks straight, keeps things refreshingly real, and has no agenda for needing to sound or BE seen under any untouchable spiritual label.

Yep, with Paul Chek... what you see is what you get! He says what he means, and means what he says.

Yes, they should be (and I'll get into that in minute)... but, they're not!

Why ?

Well, it's easy, really... the majority of us exploratory humans who look to discover things about ourselves still want to slurp down a few spoonfuls of feel-good Chicken Soup For the Soul caliber insight BEFORE we even think about chewing on the steak of self-accountability and deep spiritual turnarounds.

Let's face it, even though we know that a few yearly doses of "bad medicine" will cure our own self-induced, hideous habits of self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors, who really amongst us wants the after-taste?

Rose-colored glasses really are great... the world really does look brighter and cheerier through them.

And, maybe -- just maybe -- we figure if somebody says something like this....

Yes, that sounds like what Eckhart teaches — to, in essence, turn off the mind and emotions… or at least to do so as much of the time as possible, lest we “identify with” those thoughts.

And certainly, there are times (like when we’re about to meditate, or when we’re walking through the park or on the beach absorbed in the beauty of the moment) when it truly is beneficial to turn off the mind chatter and just be.

But that “stillness” is not meant to carry over into our everyday lives, especially into businesses that we entrepreneurs run.

Again, as Paul Chek emphasized in a few previous posts, we need movement to recognize stillness — and, consequently, we need thought to recognize the moments when we clear our minds, AND we need thought to build, to create, to learn, grow and develop.

If “thoughts become things”, with the fuel from emotions, then non-thinkers and non-feelers (i.e. Eckhart-followers) manifest no-thing instead of some-thing.

To expand on this, and hear another compelling interview clip, keep reading:

We are here on this planet to think, to feel, to manifest… not to turn off the aspects of ourselves that make us human. When we decide we are better off NOT thinking, NOT feeling, and NOT manifesting… then it seems it’s time to give up the body for good.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust… and spirit to spirit. All returns to from whence it came, and we’re free from the thinking, feeling body that some people seem to regard as an anchor weighing them down from “true enlightenment”… when, ironically, because of our limited state on this earth, it’s that very body which allows us to experience enlightenment in those previously mentioned moments — meditating, or walking through the park or on the beach.

Did Einstein “think too much”? Did Edison “think too much”? Did Henry Ford “think too much”?

If you said yes, then let us ask you… have you ever read a book or cooked a meal or done anything, for that matter, by the light of an electric light bulb? Have you ever driven or ridden in a car? Have you ever embraced the notion that time flies more quickly when you’re in pleasure than when you’re in pain?

Then, my friend, you have reaped the benefits of those men’s thoughts and manifestations.

Should people who create, who innovate, who achieve things in this life — as we all came here to do — just stop because they “think too much”?

Should people who’s life purpose and mission is to investigate the worlds of personal and professional development, sifting, sorting and selecting the best of the best for their community (that would be us) just STOP thinking, stop doing, stop SERVING our community?

Well, that’s a rhetorical question, because we’re not about to do that. And if you “think” we should (ummm… if you “think” we “think too much”, what exactly are you doing by saying that, if not “thinking”?) then perhaps you should find a feel-good online community that doesn’t think, but spends their time chanting, regurgitating, and letting you stay in your safe little comfort zone of non-thought.

That is not what we’re about at LWL Worldwide… we’re about living a Life Without Limits (yes, that’s what LWL stands for) and certainly nobody ever got there without thinking.

You might perceive a Life Without Limits as sitting and meditating all day, rather than going out and facing the world — and, sadly, we know people who would define that as a Life Without Limits too. But in fact, our definition of living a Life Without Limits involves engaging life, thinking thoughts, feeling emotions, and generally experiencing the full range of senses of beauty that life in this world offers — while at the same time serving others, living on purpose, and changing the world for the better, one person at a time.

Should you choose not to subscribe to the Life Without Limits we offer you here, you’re welcome to find your own version that resonates better with you. But we’re not going to stop thinking, we’re not going to stop investigating, we’re not going to stop sharing our findings — even if they happen to ruffle a few feathers in the process, because the greatest lessons in life come after a big push, a knock on the head, or a dose of “bad medicine” (as in, it tastes bad, but does you a world of good).

Or, as our friend and one of our recently featured mentors, Pete Siegel, says, “Adversity brings wisdom.”

Ahh, yes, wisdom… something that goes hand in hand with thoughts very well.

P.S. Speaking of the concept / interpretation of what a Life Without Limits is, here’s a clip from a recent interview we had with our long-time friend ( and neighbor ) Guy Finley:

Yes, that sounds like what Eckhart teaches -- to, in essence, turn off the mind and emotions... or at least to do so as much of the time as possible, lest we "identify with" those thoughts.

And certainly, there are times (like when we're about to meditate, or when we're walking through the park or on the beach absorbed in the beauty of the moment) when it truly is beneficial to turn off the mind chatter and just be.

But that "stillness" is not meant to carry over into our everyday lives, especially into businesses that we entrepreneurs run.

Again, as Paul Chek emphasized in a few previous posts, we need movement to recognize stillness -- and, consequently, we need thought to recognize the moments when we clear our minds, AND we need thought to build, to create, to learn, grow and develop.

If "thoughts become things", with the fuel from emotions, then non-thinkers and non-feelers (i.e. Eckhart-followers) manifest no-thing instead of some-thing.

To expand on this, and hear another compelling interview clip, keep reading:

The long-awaited, anticipated, and over-due ( see the previous blog post’s comments ) research report is on its way.

We’ve titled it: The Eckhart Effect and The Quest For Spiritual Accountability

It’s about taking ownership of the thoughts you let “soak in” to your noggin; questioning your own need for being a conformist to things and people that seem “ideal” or look “rosy”; and it’s about diving deep into the Law of Duality - one of the most over-looked, and extremely important, laws that governs our ability to learn, grow, and develop in THIS physical world… yes, the world that we need to cherish and thrive in here, not somewhere else.

While we WILL pick some holes in Eckhart’s philosophies and how they’re rooted in anti-logic and anti-reason, and explain why there’s nothing more dangerous than a guru who is positioned to be immune to criticism and spouts thought-stopping cliches such as “pain body” in response to people who question and ponder his teachings, it still won’t be a “pick on Eckhart fest.” (Ahh, yeah, we wrestled with that one ).

We interviewed one of the most revolutionary thinkers we’ve ever come across last week - for almost 3 hours, we heard a true Renaissance man, maestro of the mind, and health / wellness and physical culture connoisseur explain to our lucky LIVE listeners how to transition “feel good” spiritual knowledge, and even cryptic metaphysical precepts, into application and ownership of results.

It was profound, it was explosive, and very NEEDED. We can’t wait to share some of the audio excerpts of this interview with you as it relates to our investigation and research into The Eckhart Effect.

But, one truth we realized ( to bring it back around to the point about not fire-hosing Eckhart ) is that you truly can get a shift in thinking across to an audience by combing decorum and critical-thinking — yes, they ARE partners.

We look forward to getting an eloquent, factual, thought-provoking report your way — one that will truly allow you to feel “okay” about being you, even when you do occasionally feel like dissenting from the herd.

Until then, take a quick lesson from one of our new-found mentors.

Well, the VAULT door is now open - ready for your access for 24-months.

Look, you’re here because you want to improve your life, right? (come on, don’t be shy with the answer. Ya know you do. That’s why you’re here).

You’re tired of looking outside yourself, thru the conditioned “normal means” of learning, for all the answers. Let’s face it, intuitively, you already know collecting information in your coconut about surface-level stuff like positive thinking, traditional affirmations, and me-too motivational fluff isn’t exactly the ‘BMW of Transformational Change’.

So, to ensure you’re gonna get a true ride into the wild side, and rarely explored regions of the soul of the universe, since our last major portal renovation, our team of truth seekers have uploaded 5 NEW profound, powerful, and paradigm-shifting proprietary AUDIO interviews / lessons …

But, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Well, forget it … I’m not gonna go on and on when there’s a detailed salespage here that explains it all: http://www.manifestlife.com/join

In Myth #1 of our Manifestation Myth Busters video, Barry shared with you an article written by one Jon Benson, co-author of Fit Over 40… and I mentioned that a Law of Attraction story had led to him being interviewed by me, but that it was a story for another day.

Well, today’s that day!

At the time, I was completely dedicated to interviewing one of the world’s top success experts each and every week for my online radio show, Success Unwrapped. And while the first few guests took some legwork to track down and get to agree to be interviewed, by then I was on a roll.

Well, okay, the first few were surprisingly easy — and two of them were soon to become big stars from appearing in “The Secret” — but once those guys sent notices to their subscribers about how I had interviewed them and pulled out all the stops, digging with my journalistic curiosity in a way they’d never been dug before, then the guests started approaching me to be part of the fun.

Looking back, what had essentially happened was classic LOA at work… I had put my heart, soul and passionate energy into tracking down the world’s top experts on using the Law of Attraction, and achieving well-rounded success, and then I had gotten to the point where I could just let it go.

You know… first the focus, then the detachment. Then the snowball effect begins, and the manifestation appears… which it did…

After a few months of this, subscribers started sending in their ideas for guests as well.

One such email came from Croatia…

Heather hi,

For quite some while I have been listening your talk shows & had a need to tell you that the guests that you choose are really getting more and more interesting and the content is awesome! Just a BIGGEST “BRAVO” as we would say here in Croatia.

I wanted to ask you if you could think of getting Jon Benson on your show. He is a guy with so much goodies to say & at this moment he has a university on “education in destiny” & its so awesome! In the range of Dov Baron, just he is more into live exact examples & going through it step by step. I have achieved so much more inner freedom than all these years on any self help program! And we are just on week number 4. (There are 8 weeks).

I know my words are not enough but you give a call to him and speak for your self so you get the impression! I can just tell you that he has so deep way of thinking wrapped in every day casual language that if you know how to ask you can get a lot out of him, Heather, and that’s why I love your way of communication with your guests! Please respond to me - what you think about that!

Your happy listener from this part of the globe!
Helen

Well, I was intrigued by Helen’s email, so I looked up Jon Benson — but what I saw at first glance appeared to be a guy who taught bodybuilding. I mean, his body was buff, his muscles were large, and nearly every picture featured him in his skivvies… what was I to think?

So again, after that initial focus, I let it go.

I thought, “he’s worth taking a further look at… but I don’t have time right now. I’ll add him to my ‘potential interviewee’ file and leave it at that for ahwile.”

A few weeks later… this email arrived in my inbox:

The subject line was: “Your show — a possible guest…”

And inside it continued:

…me. : )

You have a lot of my friends already (Mike Kemski, Joe Vitale, etc.)… so hey. Perfect fit.

I’ve been doing internet audio and radio for a while now. You can learn more at my MPower series website.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Jon Benson

Well! Imagine my surprise at this turn of events!

So I did a little more research into him, and discovered that he was not just about body-building… he taught a whole-body approach of making the body, mind and spirit healthy and optimal — and he taught that using the Law of Attraction and other metaphysical principles were the way to achieve that.

Of course, I immediately wrote Jon back, telling him about the little bit of Law of Attraction in action that I had just experienced, and he agreed that that was what had happened.

The rest is history… we did the interview, and now that interview is featured inside the “Heather’s Conversations” section of the Manifest Life portal, along with 17 other top mentors (3 of which were just added to that section, as we’re always expanding the content inside the portal).

You’re not supposed to know who all the secret mentors are in the portal, because we want you to approach this for the life-changing information rather than for the name recognition… but there you go, I’ve told you. Jon Benson is Mentor #5H.

Here’s just a small taste of that conversation that Jon and I had… in this 3-minute clip we’re discussing the core values, core illusions and core levers that rule your life:

You can access the rest of the interview inside the portal — along with 17 more interviews in the “Heather’s Conversations” section, and 18 in the “Barry’s Conversations” section, not to mention the deep-diving “Secret M-Files” section, the Library, the Resources section, and… well, there’s too much to mention here.

But you can check it out on this page.
